Summary
Team 3389 was founded in 2009 by Chris Thompson of Eastern Shore Robotics (now named Tec Hub) and David Lee Miles, an electronics teacher at a local high school. He immediately sought the help of Mr. Steve Jenkins (Manufacturing Teacher) and Mrs. Jennifer Miles (Teaching Assistant). Mr. Rick Jones (Computer Repair Teacher), was recruited later after build season. In late December, the Wicomico County robotics FRC team was established. During the first season, a small group made up of 16 students came up with the team name Strikeforce. That year the team won two rookie awards at the worlds competition. The team changed their name from Strikeforce to RoboSpectrum in 2012.
In 2015, the team decided to change their name from RoboSpectrum to Tec Tigers, establishing a new era. This transition also created the FTC (10382) and VEX divisions to the team, allowing more options for the students. The team has continued to promote each program and have been enlisting more students every year. In 2016, the team also offered RC airplanes and rocketry, but was discontinued in the 2017 and 2018 season. |
VEX Updates |
FRC Updates |
Let's wish our VEX teams 3389C and 3389E as they compete in the Worlds Competition in Kentucky this week!
FTC UpdatesOur team performed well at the states competition but unfortunately did not advance to worlds. Shout out the members of our FTC team and their performance this season.

Our FRC team performed well at the district qualifier at McDonogh School. Unfortunately, they did not advance. Despite this, our team performed well in the lab, during competition, and in representing our team as a whole. However, our team isn't done building yet! Next stop Battle o' Baltimore in October. Let's see if we can make this robot better than it was before!
Other UpdatesLet's all congratulate FRC team member Destin Ames on winning 1st at the SkillsUSA competition! He will be going to Louisville in June to compete at the national level

When in doubt, zip ties, duct tape, and prayers.
